  • Lead with the firm’s purpose and culture: reference Russell‑Cooke’s tagline 'We do the right thing. We give the right advice for you. Right here in London.' and the firm’s awards for corporate culture and philanthropy to show cultural fit and commitment to responsible practice.
  • If applying for charity/philanthropy roles, cite the firm’s recent WealthBriefing award and examples of advising household charities (British Heart Foundation, UNICEF UK) — demonstrate genuine sector interest and relevant experience.
  • Mention practical, substantive experience in applications (e.g. real tasks handled, client contact or litigation drafting). The firm emphasises trainees doing real work and being 'a wheel not a cog', so concrete examples of ownership stand out.
  • Reference training strengths and wellbeing: the firm scores highly for partner approachability and peer support — ask about supervision and training structure in interviews and give examples of situations where you benefited from close mentoring.
  • If you have languages or cross‑border experience (particularly French, Spanish or Italian), highlight them — Russell‑Cooke has bilingual teams and a proactive international services offering.
