Tasks include reviewing medical records, taking statements, attending client meetings/consultations and legal research. Full training and supervision are provided by a supervising solicitor.

Notable Matters
Client (named in narrative as 'Mr D') was seriously injured in a motorcycle collision in Lerwick, Shetland. Insurers initially offered £6,700; after Digby Brown raised court proceedings the insurer revised the offer to £16,700 which was accepted. The matter demonstrates the firm's willingness to litigate to secure fair compensation and to include claims for financial losses and care/support provided by family members (relying on applicable statutory provisions).
Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence
Client Andrew Williamson from Glenrothes had a road traffic accident and, after transferring to Digby Brown from another firm, the firm fully investigated the case, arranged physiotherapy and proceeded to court where a significantly higher compensation offer was accepted (more than six times the original offer previously recommended).
Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence
Two students involved in a head-on collision were pressured by insurers to accept low offers. Digby Brown intervened and increased the original low offers (examples in the case study raised pre-litigation offers from £1,250 to new settlements around £7,000 and £5,000), illustrating the firm's approach to valuing claims and resisting early undervalued offers.
Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence
The firm states it has recovered more than £100 million in compensation each year (with figures cited of nearly £140 million and other annual totals in different pages) for clients in recent years, reflecting frequent high-value recoveries for serious injury, brain and spinal injury matters across Scotland.
