Training Contract

Trainee Solicitor Programme: a two-year recognised training period comprising four six-month seats across the firm's legal teams (trainees experience diverse seats including Business Crime & Regulation, Commercial Disputes, Corporate & Commercial, Cyber, Data & Information Law, Employment & HR and Intellectual Property). Depending on prior qualifications (LPC or SQE1), trainees undertake either an SRA-registered period of recognised training or two years of Qualifying Work Experience during which they complete the Professional Skills Course and SQE2. Trainees are supported throughout by the Training Principal, Head of Learning & Development, Legal Managers and Supervisors.

  • Academic Requirements: A 2:1 Degree in Law OR a 2:1 degree in any subject followed by a pass of the Graduate Diploma in Law; plus a pass in the LPC OR a pass in SQE1 (trainees/apprentices are recruited on that basis).

SQE Support

Trainees undertake SQE2 during their qualifying period. The Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship is partnered with Damar Training (Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship) and uses BARBRI's platform for vocational legal education; trainees and apprentices are supported by internal L&D and a Training Principal.

Mentorship

Each trainee/apprentice is supported by the Training Principal, Head of Learning & Development, Legal Managers and Supervisors. Solicitor Apprentices are assigned a dedicated internal mentor and a Learning Coach from Damar. The firm emphasises buddy systems, supportive Legal Managers and accessible supervisors.

Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship

An 18–24 month solicitor apprenticeship route for candidates with a 2:1 degree (Law or non-Law with GDL) combining Qualifying Work Experience with SQE1 and SQE2 study. Apprentices form part of the trainee cohort, complete four six-month seats alongside trainee solicitors and are partnered with Damar Training for a Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship; BARBRI provides the SQE learning platform.
