Training Contract

The firm accepts applications for traditional Training Contracts and for Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) under the SQE regime. Both routes are intended to provide supervised legal practice across a range of departments and in both contentious and non-contentious areas. Trainees/QWE candidates are placed in partner-led seats, work closely with a Partner or Senior Lawyer who mentors them and provides daily work allocation, and have monthly catch-ups with the Managing Partner to express seat preferences and career interests.

  • Qualification Rate: 21 Trainee Solicitors have been offered NQ roles over the past 5 years; 44% of Partners completed their Training Contracts with the firm.
  • Academic Requirements: We have no minimum grade requirements and we will consider each application on its own merit.

Sponsorship

As a general rule we do not provide sponsorship for any postgraduate courses prior to qualification, however, we will assess each case on its own merit. If you are completing a Training Contract (as oppose to QWE) we will cover the costs of the Professional Skills Course.

SQE Support

We will consider applicants who are midway through SQE. The firm ideally requires you to have passed SQE1 before beginning your QWE and will consider each application on its own merit. For trainees completing a Training Contract the firm will cover the costs of the Professional Skills Course.

Mentorship

Each trainee or QWE candidate will work with a Partner or a Senior Lawyer who will mentor them and provide their daily workload. Trainees have monthly catch-ups with the Managing Partner to discuss seat preferences and development. The firm also promotes peer support through team integration and 'Team Stories' and video content showcasing career progression.
